In the next 100-150 years, the number of spoken languages could be half of today's. Unfortunately, most people don't see the value in many of the endangered ones. I'll bet there are still quite a few WWII vets out there who are glad that Navajo wasn't a dead language (in fact, Navajo has more native speakers than any other North American language in the US, and is also one of the few with increasing numbers).

Just curious; what value do you see in a language that communicates with fewer and fewer people and then, possibly none?
