The whole "Great Commission" thing is nonsensical when Jesus could simply appear before those he wants to "save," like Acts says he did for Saul. What we have now, with all these evangelists and apologists using very poor reasoning to try and convince us that the Jesus of the gospels was and still is real, is precisely what we would expect to see if the New Testament were a fiction. In addition to their fruitless excuses, they give us no sure way to distinguish between what they call Jesus and what they may merely be imagining. As it is now, I have no alternative but to imagine the Jesus they claim to worship.
