Yeah, continue to use things you don't pay for! Its ok if took out a mortgage you knew you couldn't afford, its not your fault! Let the government bail you out, that what they are there for right!? While you are at it go down to the corner and steal your groceries and drive off with out paying for your gas, maybe steal a TV while you are at it, after all you deserve something for nothing!

me thinks burndata0 doth protest too loud......as if ya stop and think about it on the continuing to use unpaid for thingies? i think the government's set the bar on that venture-and they are now looking to raise that bar............
oh well-i don't know how a bunch of people with nowhere to live is going to help stimulate the economy-oh that's right....what economy?

People who took out mortgages they knew they couldn't afford must be a very small minority.
Risky mortgages were often peddled by unscrupulous professionals who convinced people they were safe when they were not. Remember, about half of America is only marginally literate, and easy prey for fast talkers.
They took out mortgages they thought they could afford (after all, that's what the professional agent told them), then the payments rose more than anybody thought they would, and the value of their home plunged more than anybody thought it would.

And, in many parts of America, failing to provide its citizenry with education sufficient to enable them to protect themselves. If you can't read, you're a sitting duck.

And the literacy rates are lowest, unfortunately, in the Republican south.
