Stupidest thing I've heard. Thanks for the comment wurdzgurl. I ACTUALLY GOT A POP FROM JK. WOW ! You're right it is stupid. We should be allowed to abort babies up to 12 years old in my opinion. very interesting...i read the whole article.....as a fairly liberal woman, i have such mixed emotions on that abortion topic....i was always 100% for the woman's right until i had three babies of my own. it's one of the topics that i ride the fence on. Hey, let's count miscarriages too! Apparently god aborts far more fetuses than humans do. I just can't wrap my mind around something like this. I mean it is as if we are on different planets. Getting a death certificate for an aborted fetus is a little out there. The only real purpose is to further a political agenda and embarrass and humiliate. I'm with NoRest. I have three children and I have experienced a miscarriage. Yet, I am completely pro-choice, always have been and I was raised Catholic (which is why, when I got pregnant at 18 abortion was not an option--for me--although I had friends then and now who I never judged for actually having an abortion). I see this as a way to stigmatize women who make this decision, regardless of their reasons for doing so (economic, emotional--not ready, condom broke/birth control malfunction). It's difficult for me to see abortions as a purely selfish "birth control method" when the pill or even a condom is a whole lot cheaper than getting an abortion ($400 bucks on the low end). If you ... I know this might annoy a few people, so take it with a pinch of salt. Why don't all the Pro-Life campaigners simply adopt and raise ALL the babies who would have normally been aborted? This is a bad idea. Where should we stop once these people know that we can create babies from cells that would simply die out from our bodies normally? By simply living as a single human being, we are letting our cells die out normally, and produce new ones. These cells in many cases are now known to be able to be coaxed into division and essentially create a new 'baby'. What should we do with these dying cells ? That's alot of dead trees for nothing, just for a broken sense of ideology. I think there should be some way of acknowledging that these tiny humans did exist. i understand the inclination to want to acknowledge that a tiny person was once there. however, i have a friend who has had an abortion; she assures me that it will always "exist" to her... it's something that one doesn't forget, and as a highly personal choice, it's something she shouldn't have to validate to anyone else. How could anybody be calous enough to "abort" something like this? Seriously. I'm not trying to be judgmental, I am just trying to figure out the mentality that leads someone to such an act. The still picture is stark enough. Nevermind the beating heart and purposeful movements that brought tears to my eyes when I saw my daughter for the first time. Oh man! You and me both! If it is the only way to force record keeping of abortions, then I am fine with it. I don't really think it would be necessary though if they just forced all doctors to keep records of all abortions and the reason for those abortions. n2sooners, you are exactly right. The purpose of this legislation is simply to provide a way to determine exactly how many abortions there are each year. jonhatespidgeons: The answer is, we would if given the opportunity. Babies are in high demand for adoption. Whether you agree that an unborn baby is human or not, you must admit that it is alive. These days, the liberals seem to be against killing anything that is alive. Why aren't they against killing the unborn? Abortion for purely social reasons cannot be justified and should be illegal. If YOU cant feed 'em - don't breed 'em ! Many, many people have babies just because they "want one" expecting society to pick up the slack when they loose interest. People treat their kids like pets - disposable. That is why there are orphanages. If all the orphans were adopted there would be no need for abortion. You aren't singled out for the opportunity to adopt - you must take the first step. |
