Socratoad says: Here, let's start with the basic facts: I hate and fear gay people. The way they feel is different from how I feel, and that causes me a lot of confusion and anger. Everyone knows God is all-powerful. He could easily have given me the capacity to investigate what's behind those feelings rather than tell strangers in the park they're going to hell for holding hands. But God clearly has another path for me. And who am I to question His divine will? Compassion, tolerance, understanding, basic decency, the ability to put myself in another person's position: God could have endowed me with any of those traits and yet—here is the crucial part—He didn't. Why? Because the Creator of the Universe wants me to demonize homosexuals in an effort to strip them of their fundamental human rights. God gave them free will and has been trying to take it back ever since. Ever wonder why you are straight? It is because the Grace of God kept you from being gay,so, please don't be so hard on them. We are sinners just like they. let me see if i understand this: God could have given you the capacity/ability to be a different way, right? (if that's you, or a quote from the Onion) So, i guess with that argument, God could have given them the capacity/ability to be different, but didn't. So he must want them to be that way. Do you see a problem with that? are you addressing me Jay? i don't have a problem with gays. Wow, people could have a field day using that argument. It could be used against any nationality, race, or religion. etc. Children at a certain age (usually toddlers) begin to empathize. They see another kid fall and start to cry themselves. It's a natural part of their development. Apathy and hatred ,however, are Learned. It's not a natural part of human development. We learn it from our parents and peers. Your taught what and who to hate, not made that way. This is what I was referring to, lollipop10: (Rom 1:24) Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, (Rom 1:25) who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. (Rom 1:26) For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. (Rom 1:27) Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. Isn't the bible a handy little bundle of resources, one can find verses to support whatever bigoted point of view one happens to hold at any given point ... thus enabling one to have holier-than-thou ego booster, no matter how insecure one is. The ultimate in self-help books. cheers Or, there is no god (according to any man made religion that so many nuts follow) and your feelings are just a base bigoted ignorance. You can count on one thing. You will find out in the end whether the Bible is a" bigoted bundle of resources" or the word of God. You have a lot at stake. "You can count on one thing. You will find out in the end whether the Bible is a" bigoted bundle of resources" or the word of God. You have a lot at stake." That sounds very much like you choose to believe as an insurance policy. Better hope Cthula wasn't the wrong choice. |
