I agree duvelic & it starts with us in our own communities. From the day I first heard these words I've tried to live them, "Think global, act local." I've recently joined a committee to help draft policies for our city to use in their planning for the future & linking all of the community's resources has been an ongoing topic. How are things locally at your end?

Sorry I am late with my answer and thanks for your comment - your words are pure wisdom!

More than 45 years my country was part of former communistic Yugoslavia. I may fairly venture to say in Slovenia we had the mildest communist regime in the world (But I never joined communist party or any other official organization).

Now Slovenia is democratic republic and part of EU and life here in many areas goes only worse from year to year: we have incomparable much more crimes, drug addiction, social injustice, corruption, brutal exploitation of people and nature. There will always be poverty, but that is no reason people need starve. Poverty is a relative concept. There will always be those who have more than they need, but we are running out of reasons to deny the poor enough provisions to keep them healthy. If we have a billion poor they can be poor if only for the fact that they have the least, not because they don't have enough. How much can the world produce, while preserving a system that can be maintained? How much would we need in total if we were to cater for the population of the world.
