kidora says: I really hope that this will start to clear up the mystery of the disappearing honeybees. They are an integral part of our harvest cycle and its really important we find out why the colonies are collapsing. Living in the country, these last years I could observe many colonies of honeybees searching a place into hoses or near windows, gutters, cornices, covered terraces and wall holes and fissures. Some families had to call help by firemen because the swarm with the queen had installed and it was impossible to get near it without protection. Bees seems to refuse natural places for their colonies and I think the massive use of pesticides for the specie of mosquito here called "tiger", added to the crescent abuse of the traditional ones, could be in fact the cause of all of this. |
