Iraqi Tank Graveyard: ..... a million depleted uranium shells were fired at Iraqi forces, spreading toxic, radioactive dust for miles around. Such dust is known to have lasting effects on the environment and to cause various forms of cancer and other serious illnesses among humans..

If only the rest of the world were like the United States.. Not!

Would you or anyone know what made those formations in the picture under the tank graveyard. I'v seen those before in pictures and can't figure them out?

Thanks John, I had no idea from pictures I'v seen where to even start looking for them. I live in Northern Michigan were we are suppose to have some of the largest limestone deposits in the World. Something tells me though that the locals don't know about that one

Each picture in the clip has an explanatory caption at the site. I copied and googled it from there. If you haven't been, the pictures look great there!

Hi John, Thanks for the tip on The Boston Globe. I put it one of my folders, after looking at all the pictures of course. Yes, it really does help to have the descriptions along with a little of the history. I saw several interesting links I want to follow up on. Nice of you to share these with everyone.

Thanks, I saw them a few years back when they were outside the Natural History Museum in London. They had embossed versions for people with visual impairments too.
