JackieDel says: "The National Alliance to End Homelessness has predicted that at the current rate, the recession will result in 1.5 million additional homeless people within two years". Why is there always enough money to wage wars and give handouts to big business yet working people and their kids - through no fault of their own - are left to fend for themselves on the streets. It's absolutely shameful. This are the people that need help, not the bankers. Unfortunately this is happening to poor people everywhere. The people supposedly in control are going to have to do something. Where is her husband? Does she have a job? Who are the father's of these kids? Why was she still on welfare? Is she poor because she several kids out of wedlock with several "baby daddys"? Who do we blame for this sad situation? Anyone want to support her with a portion of their pay checks? I read, "these poor people need help". With whose money? Why not form a group of "concerned citizens" and support this lady and her children? jay8h...Gosh, your compassion is overwhelming. I won't hold my breath for a rant about the $US.1.1 trillion ++ of taxpayers money going to private industry. The American activist Marian Wright Edelman was spot on when she said "We do not have a money problem in America. We have a values and priorities problem." You, and others like you, epitomise that problem. |
