Heh - this may be a record... I may be botching a New Year's resolution before the New Year even comes - my eyes started to swim while reading this somewhere around "aseitas" and dependent existence. Theology's definitely not my strongest subject, lol.

After what may have been a stroke, Aquinas said all his writing had been 'as straw', all 8 - 11 million words. He continued to preach until his death not long afterwards in a donkey accident.

(a) Faith and science, i.e. knowledge by demonstration, cannot co-exist 
in the same subject with regard to the same object (Zigliara, O, 32, 
VII); and the same is true of knowledge and opinion.<P>
(b) The metaphysical essence of God consists, according to some 
Thomists, in the <I>intelligere actualissimum</I>, i.e. fulness of pure 
intellection, according to others in the perfection of <I>aseitas</I>,

(c) The happiness of heaven, formally and in the ultimate analysis, 
consists in the vision, not in the fruition, of God.</P><P>
(d) The Divine attributes are distinguished from the Divine nature and 
from each other by a virtual distinction, i.e. by a <I>distinctio 
rationis cum fundamento a parte rei</I>. The <I>distinctio actualis
