How lucky for the girl this verbal abuse was not allowed to turn into physical abuse. I don't know who released this, but this is something of which the authorities should be aware. This is the type of mentanlity that leads to people getting physically hamed. This type of anger is epidemic. How soon we froget what this can turn into (ex. Va Tech). Baldwin needs help. This is just one event in a long line of verbal tirades.

Before you say that I don't know that - let me come right back at you with the same about all of the speculations above. The fact is that kids can be manipulated by non-parents and ex-wifes. The fact is that not all kids are angels and can act in very non-angelic manner and the fact is that these tapes don't leak accidentally. And if you think otherwise about children - it's likely you don't have any, otherwise you'd be more realistic on the subject.

Debbyski implied that the lawyer might be at fault... that makes no sense. Why would a lawyer risk his practice over the Baldwins difficulties? Why would Basinger leak this? That makes all the sense in the world, considering the amount of hurt she's inflicting not only on Alec but on his whole fight for the right to be a part of his children's lives.

I do like him as an actor, I can't stand him for his political views and sentiments and wish he did live in Paris, threat that never materialized. But to crucify him over an angry voice-mail, more intently than crucifying someone who killed 32 people in cold blood is very strange. Although it does say something about the media of today - 1) they'd kill their own when convenient... provided 2) he's a white male.

It's amazing how overblown this is... if one didn't know better - one'd think that the guy flew down, got his Glock out and stuck it in her mouth. Come on! My father said a lot worse things that Baldwin did and I didn't require 'therapy' or anything of the kind. He accomplished one thing with his parenting skills - zero respect from me and zero relations with him. I didn't force the issue - he did and that's what he got. Due to his treatment of me (and my sis and my mom) - he's now a divorced individual (after 43 years of marriage) and hasn't seen his kids or grandkids for the past 2 years. I don't miss him one bit, again due to his parenting skills (or lack thereof to be more accurate...

If Baldwin is doing something he shouldn't be - he won't win his daughter back, he'll simply lose her... but to extend this voice-mail into something gigantic where the kid will need therapy for the rest of her life - is simply ridiculous.

A lot of people took my father's side, telling me how I shouldn't be the way I am, after all he is my father, blah blah blah... my uncle (his brother) even tried to talk some 'sense' into me by telling me that 'what goes around comes around' and other wisdom of that kind.

Everyone has an impression of him and thinks that they know better, but they don't. So, in the end it's between me and him, period. I've always believed that and always will.

I think it's very similar with the Baldwin debacle. The media crucifies him based on this one message and what they think they know (the bitter divorce and such)... the reality is likely very different for them. They're the only ones that know and in the end it'll be between Alec & his daughter in terms of how their relationships evolves or not. The media are nothing but ratings whores, they couldn't care less about anyone and couldn't care less whether they help or hurt with their 'reporting'.

Every family has their own stories, their own villains and heroes and their own approach to resolving issues, regardless of whether someone's famous or not... people are people.
