I've always thought that was bunk! If I need to drink so much, why do I have to run to the bathroom 6 times a day when I'm keeping hydrated?

All I know is I feel 400% better since I started drinking around 8 glasses of water a day.

And just in case you didn't believe I would drink that much... pic

Drinking alot of water really makes your skin look nice, too. Adam, doesn't the "need to pee so often" effect wear off after drinking so much water for awhile? Tell me that is so!

Yes, I believe it does wear off a bit, though I'm not really sure (and I'd feel weird about keeping count).

That's what I'm talking 'bout! I buy bottled water by the case, too. So I take a lot of breaks...no big deal.

i heard somewhere that bottled water isn't even that good for you-- it's tap water that really is the best source.

I've been trying to drink more water. It's a pain, though, so I always remember when Adam and Eric said that they are so much better when they do it. You two are water's best advocates.

I try and get in 8 glasses a day...all the glasses at home are pint glasses hence8 pints a day and many trips to the loo...I never understood why I found to so easy to down 6 pints of beer in a row and have difficulty with 8 pints over 24 hours...

water by its self is not as easy to drink in the quantities that pop, juices etc. are because the whole purpose of juice/pop is to be palatable- to taste good enough to over-consume. the bottom line is that water or electrolyte balanced liquids are best but it won't kill ya if you don't get 8 glasses a day. I must also say that if you drink too much water too quickly it can dilute much needed electrolytes- potassium, calcium and magnesium being of greatest importance as they are involved in the function of the brain, heart and various muscles. water can kill on both sides of the spectrum- way too little can kill and so can way too much.

I think you should clarify the last point.

While drinking water alone doesn't reduce hunger, drinking more water while eating does.

After reading the article, I think most of those are Myths only because they need not be taken so strictly. For example, perhaps we only need to consume 8 glasses of water per day in all forms (or whatever your suggested water intake is), not 8 glasses of pure water.

Same with caffeine, tea and coffee aren't heavily caffeinated. I'm pretty sure tea is diluted enough to still hydrate you. Red Bull, on the other hand, is probably concentrated enough to be dehydrating. Caffeine definitely dehydrates; try popping a couple of Vivarin pills without drinking wat...
