Hey, if you're a parent nowadays you need to do whatever it takes to keep track of your kids - it's a jungle out there! Agreed! I joined MySpace and Facebook. My kids know I am on MySpace and they have added me as a friend, but now I have noticed that my daughter and oldest son ... AND their friends ... have kind of faded out of MySpace and are moving towards Facebook more. Keep up the "private eye" work on your kids because the stalkers don't follow the rules or care if your child doesn't put them in their "Top Ten" ... why should you? Same here, for my adult daughter. I heard this from a tennis Mom-friend. She was shocked by what the *kids* were revealing about their lives, friends, families and feelings. Scared her really bad! Have to wonder if it's a good thing to let them know who-you-are...if you're a parent. It goes back to the olden days of reading diaries and listening in on phone-calls. I'll show my age and reveal my seriousness about my kids.....I would never have done anything that exposed my personal experiences to anyone (as a teenager) or brought embarrassment or shame to my parents. Nor was I above checking out my children's relationships or over-listening to their phone calls. They're adults now, and they're on their own. But I wou... |
