Too many pets are neglected and it could have been prevented if people would do their research before impulse buying.

Nice article. I wish more people did the research before getting an animal, and especially a bird.

I have a 13-year-old blue-headed Pionus. My husband thought she was noisy until he heard a blue & gold macaw screech one day.

Much to his chagrin, she has seniority on him. Every so often, he'll look at me and say, plaintively, "Now, they live to forty-five, you said? *sigh*"

Hahaha! You should see the looks on people's faces when my Triton Cockatoo goes off! It's pretty bad. They say the only thing louder than a 'Too is an African Grey imitating a 'Too! I'm so glad my Grey doesn't do that. She does, however, occasionally say "shuddup". LOL
