I wasn't a big fan of Teddy - nor an "enemy," in any way. I was more engaged with my own Senators. But the quick TV summaries of his life touched me. The last of the three Kennedy brothers gone. How hard it much have been to have two brothers killed by assassins bullets and then continue. And continue he did. You may want to read a little more about him before you make him a national hero. http://clipmarks.com/clipmark/EC875C27-5589-444F-BBF6-6E962E0C7908/ I don't have the power to make him a "national hero", but I'm flattered that you think I do. jay8h is in tune, though, with the vile politics of the day that never lets any event happen without adding slime and hate to it. citizenbfk, You noticed that too? The man had flaws...which he acknowledged. He was a great Senator. The liars are now coming out of their boxes to attack him. Ye gods, he looks young in that 1st picture. — Comment removed by moderator — Though Shakespeare's words, via the character of Marc Antony, were expressed for Julius Caesar, they are no less pertinent, today, to those who are the "doers-of-deeds," who often fail in their attempts, and, yet, succeed in others: "The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones;" Be nice folks, I was only trying to point out that there are two sides to Teddy. After someone dies, only the good side is remembered. This is only human nature. Be nice folks, I was only trying to point out that there are two sides to Teddy. There were not 2 sides to Ted Kennedy. With all his faults, the best thing that can be said for the man is that he did not hide who he was. That deserves some respect. He was a good Senator for his cause. I'm not sure I would rank him as great American, but he probably wouldn't say Reagan was a great American either. The Massachusetts voters will maintain their role as the laughing-stock of all the electorate, however. That you can count on. Reagan traded guns to the Iranian hostage holders, used the money to buy cocaine which he then used to fund secret wars in Columbia. Kennedy was a prime force on legislation for fair voting rights, health care and education. I hope you red-neck cretins who post ill here don't think your vile puke illustrates any more than that you're covered with vomit yourself. |
