pkronfield says: Let them sink. There is an American entrepreneur out there who can innovate and resurrect the industry... whoops! Forgot all our young entrepreneurs are about to be taxed to death by the Dear Leader. So much for that idea. there are plenty of people making cars in America and making money - Toyota, Mercedes, Nissan. However, they are doing it in non-union plants and not paying an average of $73 an hour to build cars that nobody wants to buy. GM needs bankruptcy to wash out all these duplicated brands and dealerships and to stop paying for all those gold-plated retiree benefits. As if Congress would stab their union thugs in the back now that they came through for them. @ColoradoWrong Why focus on the workers benefits, but completely ignore the executive compensation and lack of leadership in building cars people actually want? Workers build what they are told to build. Wages haven't gone up since the 70's, which may help explain why there are so few stay-at-home moms, somerthing "conservatives" may want to think about. Leave Michigan manufacturers to their own devices, they could restructure their union contracts and survive and make a come-back, or go bankrupt and close up shop. |
