America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles by those with the intent of securing religious liberty and who fled from England to escape religious persecution. America is a Christian nation.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Nice job 'Idol' contestants!

Proud of your bias. The best contestant. By best I mean "talent" as in Musical, singing.....oh, you wouldn't understand anyway.

My point is that you'll vote for these people regardless. Makes you bias. Not right, If religion ever was anything important, you people sure have messed it up.

If a clip has the word "Christian" in it you can bet that it will receive some attacks in one form or another. It's another new fad.

The only thing I've ever watched from AI was the "Shout to the Lord" song from last year and I found it by accident on the internet. I loved it and have it saved. It makes sense that there would be some Christians from churches on a music show because they have choirs and worship services of course.

Chestnut501, I bet you are proud of your bias. Anything Christian or related to it you burr up and oppose. Who is narrow minded? Check history. You are in the wrong country. Perhaps you would be happier in Russia or China. They hate Christians there too.

We had that problem in Australia too. Good talent was dropping out because they saw that there was no chance. (They did stay in to get some publicity though - fair enough)
They have changed the system I think. Different types are winning it though. Not as popular after the stories came out.
The system was abused by religiously motivated - nothing new there. Business people call it entrepreneurial.

In keeping with the trend in posting...

You can bet if the clip has the word Christian in the title, at least one uneducated comment will come up, like the one above.

Since you are apparently not aware of it, allow me to inform you that Russia has one of the most orthodox Christian populations on the planet. The EOC there has roots far older than any church in North America. Google is your friend.

And c-o-tie, there have been a lot of other immigrants come to America since, from much more diverse backgrounds than England. As much as you want the USA to be white anglo saxon christian, if you have a look at the Mother Country, you will see it is impossible.

"America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles..."
People tend to repeat what they hear, especially if from a source they respect. Unfortunately, when that source has a political-religious agenda, watch-out.

Here are the facts:

"The Decalogue intersects with U.S. Law on only three issues: murder, theft, and perjury." All these crimes had already been forbidden in civilizations far more ancient than any Judeo-Christian cultures"

For example:

England's Common Law was introduced by the Saxons and was eventually legislated into the Magna Charta in the middle of the fifth century -- about 200 years before the introduction of Christianity in the 7th century.
