Penalizing and/or stigmatizing corporations participating in deforestation is really the only way to stop it. Well, except, of course, when it is all gone.

Some people say there are more forests now than when mankind first arrived on the scene, all I can say to this is to do some research and you will find that this line of thought is pure BS.

I would want proof that there are more forests now than when man came to earth and I think that proof would be damn hard to supply as taking photos from space shows that there are fewer trees now than ever before!!

I spend hours in our local park with my Alsatian in an area where we get 40+ degrees centigrade and being under the shade of the trees is pure heaven, microclimates in such a hot hellish place in summer are incredible. Imagine if we allowed trees to grow as they should, how soon global warming would decrease.
