If mothers and grandmothers could be more attentive and responsible, but of course, it also goes for the fathers and grandfathers..... but most of the males of this specie aren't all that reliable.... Bullying like rape and aggressiveness are seeds sown in vey young minds, or so I'm told... Prison inmates and prison guards, cops and robbers, hide and seek... these were games many have played as children... the vigilant adult can usually correct snags in social behaviour. However, prisons and their guards are a necessary institution, most governments believe. But then again, what sort of childhood did most of the torturers have??? When seeking the cause or fault, always look within first: "the fault lies not in our stars but within ourselves." We are all "at cause" in this reality: we "cause" everything that happens - either through action or inaction. "If you were to dedicate the rest of your life to easing suffering around the world - now and into the future - what would you do? How would you do it? (Work/Play ONLY for charity?) Global warming, AIDS, starvation, malaria, land mines, drought, hepatitis, war, peak oil, asteroids, pandemics, avian flu, cancer, mental illness, (diamonds, chocolate, prostitution...) slavery, kidnapping, torture, censorship, OR Amnesty International, U.N., W.H.O., Red Cross, Peace Corp... |
