Rather, I think the word Guide is a compliment to people who post clips that others want to follow. I think it honors the idea that a particular user has contributed to the site in a way that makes others want to follow them. If you prefer the impersonal title of "Clipper" then we're just not seeing the honor of following someone's clips the same way. I think it's personal, i think it's an honor and i think it deserves a title that conveys something more than the literal "clipper" does.

Perhaps if you don't like the term 'Clipper' how abot 'colleage' or 'friend'? I still value friendship and I'm sure many others do too.
When you switched to 'Your' clips you changed the focus of clipmarks from a personal experience to a visitor experience.
You have taken back ownership and made us feel like we are outsiders looking in(which we are). It is a subtle but alienating change that makes clipmarks just another impersonal outlet. Why not make everyone's clips "Their Clips' ? That will further alienate us from the site.
LET ME BE CLEAR:
This is your site and I am but a visitor. In the past you have created very good changes that have greatly improved my experience. If changes get beyond what I can bear I am free to leave.
BACK TO VAGUE:
It appears the change is in-line with the general changes in society recently. I see these changes in everyone I meet. You are following the attitudes of society.

Yet, most importantly, I look with some sadness on the drift from 'our terminology' to more generic terms. I would like to keep the unique aspects of Clipmarks and look not for the wider denominator. But then, I'm not looking to make a living out of CM, so I guess my perspective is entirely different then yours on this one

I know that I ‘follow’ certain guides that lead me to unexpected places that I wouldn’t reach by myself (nods to alanocu, arifsali, skwirl, deepti,abailart and yourself ftf, not to mention the other hundred plus guides I follow.)

So, in my book the term guide is a natural outcome of the way the clipmarks community operates.

Many a time I find myself thanking a clipper for the clip he or she has put in front of me, as I would thank a guide, again its a simple and natural mode of indicating my pleasure and interest.
