The whole 'democracy' thing is a façade behind which the powers that be can pull the strings of elected officials (their puppets) undetected. The illusion called democracy consists in letting the public choose the puppets. This is why they make it impossible for a third party to run against their two socket puppets. All very true. Besides looking at the world in a "left-right," spectrum, which often has a lot of junk ideas and phony allegations in it all, a quite clear dividing line is: "SuperRich vs. the poor." The "powers that be," in many case are those with the most money; this being more key than any ascribed "left" or "right," ideas or ideals. The current Health Care Reform debate is the USA is just the latest example: those who are making great profits fight not only to keep things the way they are but to make changes that even increase their incomes.
