The "loved" and "full of lofty vision" must have been added to brunt the reality of the foolishness of this scheme. Whoever advised him (and Michelle and Oprah) to go there and make these personal pleas was an idiot. This made him look so foolish. No gravitas here. As one person suggested...if he can't convince the IOC to chose his home state, what makes him think he can influence Iran??

No gold, no silver, no bronze....just dead weight for the Country. At least he used the trip to talk to our top General. :~(

Maybe if the right weren't so hell bent on helping him fail and actually started helping him succeed then it would have happened.

Would you have said that 5 yrs. ago? (just asking)

Again, it's about his policies and those he has put in charge of our lives...the Left's agenda on health care, the economy, energy, foreign affairs, education...his condescension of those Americans whom he considers ignorant stooges...his *apparent* superficiality and hubris. No one wants America to fail. I certainly do not; but it's seems to be tankin' and looking more impotent with each passing day.

What did the left do to help Bush succeed? Why should republicans help Obama succeed in implementing policies to which they and their voter base is opposed? Why should they work with someone that absolutely refuses to work with them?

Not enough people wanted Wilson or Mussolini to fail. That ended up being a problem. Thankfully, many Americans are anti-statist and still grounded to the ideas of liberty, individualism, limited government and the founding principles.
