enbar says:
Political appointees overseeing National Park Service operations have ordered that Grand Canyon park rangers not say anything about the geological origins of the canyon to avoid offending biblical literalists who believe it originates with Noah's flood.

And the right claims that the left is too PC? The left may try to promote better terms for racial minorities, but the right wing actually censors the truth when it doesn't fit their opinions.

This is the problem: we're supposed to have separation of church and state, so why don't we? I just spoke to a bunch of folks from the UK who are amazed that religion plays any role whatsoever in our government. In Britain, which is supposed to have a national religion, only 20% actually attend church. And you will never hear any religious group speaking out in Parliament.

The Grand Canyon was carved untold millions of years ago. The river that did so is STILL there, though much reduced from its original fury. Can't we just leave medieval thinking behind once and for all?
