During a health care town hall in Portsmouth, N.H., last week, a man stood outside with a pistol strapped to his leg. Phoenix police say the people with guns, including the man with the rifle, don't need permits. No crimes were committed, and no one was arrested. The man with the rifle told The Arizona Republic he was carrying the weapon because he could, adding that he still has some freedoms in Arizona. I acknowledge their legal right to carry, however I think the venue in this case was out-of-bounds. Although I feel there is no ambiguity regarding the Second Amendment, I feel this public display near where the president is speaking, was uncalled for. Saying that, I guess I am being a little hypocritical on the matter, I’m for citizen’s right to bear arms however I also feel there are certain situations and places private citizens should not be armed, around the president should be the number one exception.
