If any dog lovers need some summer reading, I can recommend The Dogs of Babel by Carolyn Parkhurst.

I love my little woofie so much. Got her 7 years ago yesterday. She was covered in sores and had been beaten regularly - terribly abused. When I picked her up, it was the first time I'd ever heard a dog scream and she wet herself in fright. But now, 7 years on, she sleeps in the crook of my arm and I call her my 'spare rib'. We love each other dearly.
