como dos viejos amigos.
A veces se hace mi sombra,
va a todas partes conmigo.
Se me trepa a la nariz
y me la muerde
y la quiebra con sus dientes finos.
Cuando estoy en la ventana
me dice ¡brinca!
detrás del oído.
Aquí en la cama se acuesta
a mis pies como un niño
y me ilumina el insomnio
con luces de artificio.
Nunca se está quieto.
Anda como un maldito,
como un loco, adivinando
cosas que no me digo.
Quién sabe qué gotas pone
en mis ojos, que me miro
a veces cara de diablo
cuando estoy distraído.
De vez en cuando me toma
los dedos mientas escribo.
Es raro y simple. Parece
a veces arrepentido.
El pobre no sabe nada
de sí mismo.
Cuando soy santo me pongo
a murmurarle al oído
y lo mareo y me desquito.
Pero después de todo
somos amigos
y tiene una ternura como un membrillo
