I was taught how special humans were, in childhood. As an adult, I find we are a series of mutations and 40% of our self is capable of mutation in the future.

Not all mutations are bad....Some researchers have expressed a notion that with modern technology and the relative safety of the world in which we live, humans evolutionary tale may be finished. Our environment doesn't require the adaptive mutations to succeed in a hostile world any longer. We've peaked so to speak, however I don't think we'll look like we do in another 100k years. Mutations are great. It is just that we have been conditioned that mutants are not good. Mutations have got us where we are. All we have to do is use those skills for the planet, rather than the banks.
