Of course in South Texas, a cooler breeze at night means it's gotten down to a frigid 90 degrees F. Brrrr. You know it. It is so hot right now. But today it rained, hooray! Rain? Wow, now I am jealous. We're about to go to water rationing, if we haven't already. I didn't see the news today. I know, yesterday was the first rain in a month at my house. Today was a nice surprise. We don't have or want A/C. We rely on fans to move the air and lots of ice water to drink. A cool wet cloth sponged over bare skin periodically feels fantastic, especially when combined with the breeze from a fan. It has been raining here nearly every day for weeks. Garden plants, grass, weeds, and biting insects are all flourishing in the humidity. We languish in front of fans on hot days and wear jackets indoors on cool days like today. Betcha don't live in south Texas! Nope. Much farther north and east, in the land of moose, black bear and beaver. I hate being in the air conditioning all the time... Makes me feel sick, constantly going between hot and cold temps. I sweat. Good night man what's your point? Have you ever been to Florida? or Georgia? Or anywhere where it's hot for that matter?! They have the friggin' ac on so high in all the restraunts and stores it's a wonder your sweat doesn't freeze on your face after coming in from 100+ degree weather and humidity to boot. |
