The Arab/Israeli conflict should be top of Obama's to-do list

It needs to be done fast. Blair rode a wave of goodwill to achieve peace in Northern Ireland in '98. A year or two down the line that goodwill towards "New Labour" in general and Blair in particular had disappeared. Obama needs to make the most of the momentum of his outstanding victory and global optimism before "events" screw things up - as they inevitably will.

but Elfrida, it is not even mentioned as a subject of policy. There seems to be a rowing-back from his position of about a year ago.
The USA has to be firm with Israel for any movement to take place.
