Forced disappearance occurs when an organization forces a person to vanish from public view, either by murder or by simple sequestration. The victim is first kidnapped, then illegally detained in concentration camps, often tortured, and finally executed and their corpse hidden.

Project Disappeared is an attempt by diverse human rights organizations and activists to keep the memory of the
disappeared alive and search for justice.  It is a place to get to know and to remember the victims of State terrorism in
