Thorne says: This is phucking ridiculous. This is a fine work of art portraying a painful reality. It is not erotic nor pornographic in subject. Why was this nude banned from a show which included other nudes? Things that make ya go "hmmmm..."? In knowing a woman, personally, who has gone through breast cancer recently, this hits home. We should all be offended that an "artist council" pulled this work of art and life. Why was this piece considered morally offensive? Because the model is not traditionally beautiful? Because reality is too harsh? When are we as a society going to face reality and the beauty that lies therein instead of the artificial beauty we all seem to worship? Because most of the world is shallow and superficial. Anything that does not make the grade gets no 'air time'. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but somepeople need to open their eyes first. |
