I wish them good luck. They're going to need it. Is there anything in the human spirit more attractive than courage in the face of evil?

It's sad but it's history. In WWII, we imprisoned 1,000's of Japanese patriots living in California and persecuted the others throughout America. They were all good, loyal citizens caught up in the histeria. This is on a smaller scale, but no less vicious. It is a sad part of the human makeup that we tend to associate evil with easily identifiable landmarks such as religion, creed or color of skin.

I truly hope that all bigots take a moment to think and less time being so zealous and impetuous. Hitler was a great example of an overly zealous person who chose to eliminate a race on the basis of prejudice alone. Let no one make that mistake again...ever! On a big scale or a small one!

I would love to hear more Muslims speaking out about the terrorists that have hijacked their religion and wrecking havoc on the world stage. If the majority of Muslims are peaceful people and law abiding citizenry then all this terrorism must be an affront to them.

I only have one question then to ask. Why are you not doing anything about it? And blaming the US is not doing something that is abjucating responsibility and throwing fuel on the fire.

Arrest these terrorist and radical clerics and imprison them or behead them or whatever you do to lawbreakers in your country. I know you stone women who commit adultery and cut off hands of theives so why are you not taking care of these terro...

In the beginning of Christianity, adulterers were also stoned to death. Yet, they did not go out and seek vengeance against the Romans who persecuted them...why not. I guess you have to read the bible or Koran or whatever your holy book is called to understand. But, I do know that the vast majority of Muslims are good people. It's like when people say all kids in college drink and raise hell. The truth is only about 10% are like this. But that 10% is much more obvious than the 90% who are law abiding so they get the publicity.

This is not a problem the Muslim people as a whole can deal with any better than anyone else. These people thrive on anonymity and are very secretive. They are not easily discovered.

Give this man a gold star. Brillant statement. This is why things are going so rough in IRAQ you stated the obvious. THESE sand fleas are nipping at ankles and running off and hiding in holes in the ground. So instead of criticizing us for trying how about helping out?

There are more of us then them and sooner or later if no one takes them in they will be a rebel without a home on a mission without a cause.

I don't know what this organization does and I don't much care. I and most people already know that the vast majority of Muslims are peaceful and law-abiding. They're not the problem. The extremists and terrorists are the problem. If this organization wants to do anything useful, they should convince the extremists, not preach to the choir.

hipster wrote, "In the beginning of Christianity, adulterers were also stoned to death."

Not according to the gospels. Jews stoned adulterers (and Xtians). Xtians forgave adulterers.

Good first comment, Jim, although I'm baffled by the X-in-place-of-Christ thing. What's that about?

Eaglewings... why does everyone think that Muslims behead everyone? Personally, I am in the US.. so .. but stoning people doesn't happen anymore. I mean... like someone else said, in the OT there is talk about stoning and so on, too.

Further, in Iraq the everyday people have very little control over what the so called terrorists do. Try and think about this.. these people are defending their country against occupiers. Would ...

Would we in the US so easily allow another country come in and tell us
what to do with our government etc? Try and see it from their eyes.
We do they are called Illegal aliens or immigrants on our country and they are basically running the show right now. I am all for allowing whosoever will may come but follow the rules. All this lawlessness going on and so few jails

I close where I started. We have this problem but we do not BLOW THEM UP. We work through legal means to force change but then we are lawabiding people. THERE is a BIG DIFFERENCE.

Question: Why do you live in America?

I will answer this thoroughly tomorrow.. but I live in America because my parents are American. My mom was born in Austria, my father in the US, and I was born in france, like the coneheads. My father is an Army Lifer.. so he met my mom overseas.

See ya tomorrow. Peace

You define the extremists more than anything.
It REALLY is too bad that a tiny percentage of ANY creed believes it to be part of that creed that they must eliminate all who do not subscribe to that creed and refer to them as the "infidels" who must be eliminated; and that they must eventually dominate with the most harsh rule.
These folks are doing a brave and noble thing it would appear. That is, as long as they do not deny that there are those who are hi-jacking their name, their beliefs, and to some their credibility. As long as they do not deny that the greatest evils today are being done by an extremist sliver that claims to be a part of them. Will they see it more crucial to speak out a...

Yes, they are. I would say the same about Christianity. As long as they don't deny that there are those who are hi-jacking their religion to justify wars against other nations (Bush).. etc. You see, that's what's happening to Christianity.

I only know of one single group that is speaking out against...

Kudos to davboz and Dazey both good posts.

To clarify. No right thinking American believes Muslims are bad only the bad ones are bad. And you got some bad ones. However when the good ones do not stand up against the bad ones then we have to wonder if you really believe they are doing wrong.

We got bad ones in our country but we do not blame others for our problems we handle them. We do not go around saying its because of them Coneheads or Morabootees or some other religion which I just made up to avoid stereotyping. We call evil, evil and wrong, wrong and punish accordingly.

As far as the death penalty goes. There would be no need to put anyone to death if they do not break the law. DON'...

Eagle LOL at living in the us and knowing how he media spins things! I subscribe to a number of independent news sources, so that helps, but I still do the research always.

Arifsali, I haven't read Bishop Spong. Who is it? I love to read, though.. so I will be happy to hear about

Eagle again: Yes, Bush has done some illegal things.. but I am too tired to list them, but I will look around for one that is already compiled.

Peace!
