It has nothing to do with the enemy or justice - it has everything to do with not having a dismounted patrol - or a three dollar motion detector under the damn tank.

Wars are won by exploiting the mistakes and inattentions of the enemy - and making as few mistakes of your own as possible.

In a proper combined-arms environment, it should be automatic death for anyone NOT in the proper uniform to get that near to a tank.

Strictly speaking, one should not try to bring tanks into urban areas in the first place, but when unavoidable, a well-concealed sniper watching that ten million dollar item is generally considered wise and prudent.

It seems you did not get it, you are looking at the small picture,
