Jemaah Islamiyah[1] (JI, Arabic phrase meaning "Islamic Group" or "Islamic Community"; in Arabic, الجماعه الإسلاميه) is a Southeast Asian militant Islamic organization dedicated to the establishment of a Daulah Islamiyah[2] (Islamic State) in Southeast Asia.

Jemaah Islamiyah is known to have killed hundreds of civilians in the Bali car bombing on October 12, 2002. In the attack, suicide bombers killed 202 people, mostly Australian tourists, and wounded many in two blasts.
