I'm not sure, but I do think that this statement may give actionable cause to Letterman against the publishers of this Fire David Letterman site as defamation of character or liable. Letterman has, to the best of my knowledge, no public record for any child offenses, nor any other offense related to such actions. I am hopeful and confident that his attorneys are in fact reviewing and advising him on such matters. I would personally be thrilled to see legal recourse taken against the purveyors of this comment. Two wrongs don't make a right, and in this instance push-back would serve notice as to the boundaries of such actions.
