The use of a DVR has totally changed my viewing habits the point that I cannot imagine not having one. I realize of course that it does qualify in the greater scheme of things as a luxury but it so dramatically changes information access of the media that it really does redefine it. Even if I am watching a show during it's live broadcast slot, I'm still time shifting to offset comercials I don't want to see, while at the same time allowing me access to those I do have an interest in.
