This was the view from my window. I knew none of my neighbours and from what I could tell this being 'flatland' they also had no involvement with each other either. All strangers living isolated lives. Looking out the window one day I not only was attracted to the simple beauty of the houses with their odd angles and shaped roofs, but the telephone pole in the middle of the yard. Reminded me of a Maypole with all the wires leaving it in the direction of the lives surrounding it.
