"One of the officers concluded the encounter with the statement that if Mr. Campeau-Laurion didn't like this country, he should get out of 'it',"
No kidding. Take a hike buddy. No one is forcing you to stay in the U.S. Moveon.org down to Cuba, and take your litigious ACLU lawyer with you.

So if you don't do what the police tells you to do in violation of your rights then you have to leave?

Freedom...ya gotta love it!

Preposterous military mind set police-state bull-shit. Unless the jurors are idiots, this guy will own the cop's house and the cop should/will rightfully lose his job. How did I know clip-on wouldn't have a clue about the issues?

Forced patriotism? That doesn`t sound like "land of the free" to me. A man's bladder has no ears, no loyalty to religion or country and doesn't care what might be going on around it. When a guy's gotta go, he's gotta go - patriotism has nothing to do with it - especially after a few beers.

And what's with the "love it or leave anyhow," with a song that's not even our country's national anthem?

Forced theism and forced patriotism wrapped up in one stinky sandwich. Isn't that almost a definition of a theocracy?
