To everybody interested in the global warming phenomenon: I'm looking for resources about the possible long-term (*really* long-term, as in the next few hundred years) consequences of global warming. I'm writing a story, set in the future, and would like to make sure that I've done my homework. I'm having trouble finding hypotheses that reach beyond the next century. Thanks much! Plan on being here? Cities are against the oceans and bays because of convenience. Back when they were built it was the most sensible thing to do. When they were built there was very little understanding of the geological processes of the planet. As the planet changes our society needs to change with it. If we are so advanced, why don't we just move the cities? Not practical? How practical is it to NOT move them and let them perish from a process that is inevitable? I suspect cities will be moved much as stop signs are erected at trouble intersections... shortly after there are blinkers and bumpers and bodyparts strewn throughout. I suspect you are right |
