The sad fact of the matter was under the administrations of Ronald Regan and George H.W. Bush, the military was revived after being gutted by the ultra-liberal communist president/farce Carter. Everything was running like a top, until the American people again voted in a liberal democrat who promptly started to gut the military again. The present deterioration of the VA hospitals and Walter Reed are a direct result of liberal democrat neglect.

The hospitals are in the process of renovation and this doesn't happen overnight.

Sen. John Warner, R-Va., the former chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said Defense Secretary Robert Gates has struck the right tone with him. Gates has addressed the situation “with unusual candor,” has been open to congressional oversight and to correcting problems “very quickly,” Warner said...."
