Partial birth abortion will go down as one of the most successful, and diabolical, public relations campaigns of all times. Instead of trying to ban all abortions, conservatives spent all their energy trying to outlaw only one extremely rare form of abortion: an emergency procedure called late-term abortion, which they immediately renamed. But they are not fooling anybody. It's no secret that for them, making partial-birth abortions illegal is but a stepping-stone to making all abortions illegal.
