n2sooners says: Goracle says, "Do as I say, not as I do." hahahahah what a moron!!! This is silly...and a perfect example of the divisive nature of picking sides regardless of the issue. What Gore is doing to promote awareness of global warming and adoption of more environmentally friendly technologies is good. Plain and simple, it's good. Why can't it just be left at that. Why do people need to bash him for this. I swear, if only we could put partisan differences aside every once in a while, i think this country would be a much better place. Gore’s home uses more than 20 times the national averageThat's amazing when you consider he only has 3 times the house of the average american. This is silly...and a perfect example of the divisive nature of picking sides regardless of the issue.I see it more as picking sides regardless of the hypocracy. if only we could put partisan differences aside every once in a while, i think this country would be a much better place.Could not agree more. Gore's partisanship and outragous attack on Bush are petty, considering they agree on more than they disagree. Hopefully Gore will also put this partisan anti-American global-... He isn't promoting good, he is promoting fear. His projections are far worse than even the IPCC report. He then goes out and tells everyone else what they need to do to save the environment while he himself is doing the exact opposite. He is like one of those hypocritical preachers telling everyone how they should live a wholesome life while he sleeps around on his wife. I mean if he really believed what he was preaching, wouldn't he be walking the walk and not just talking the talk. Maybe he should look to Ed Begley on how to practice what you preach. Right-wing smear job in full operation. Anybody stop for a second to ask for the proof to the claims? The state of Tennessee doesn't even recognize Tennesee Center for Policy Research as a legitimate organization - Link Link to this website to see who Tennesee Center for Policy Research turns out to be, they will be going through their tax fillings. Link Turns out Drew Johnson, Pres. of Tennesse Center for Policy Research, was hosted as a fellow at a summer class by the American Enterprise Institute. The same institue funded by ExxonMobil. Does something stink? The only thing that stinks around here is the way you refuse to dispute facts and just ignore anyone who has a money interest. Well guess what, there aren't many people who have a bigger money interest in global warming than the Goracle. ExxonMobil doesn't have a money interest? Boise St 43 Choking Sooners 42 The issue shouldn't be whether Gore is a hypocrite but whether global warming is real. An Inconvenient Truth raised awareness by promoting fear. Gore exaggerated global warming so that people would pay attention. Dishonesty should not be excused. However, global warming is real and should be dealt with. So, there can't be but a single issue, and lying is okay as long as it is a liberal doing it for a higher cause? Bullshit. And one last thing, OU 7 national championships, Boise State 0 Considering the questionability of the organization Tennesee Policy whatever. I'm gonna give this a few days. It would be true that a person of high wealth could retrofit there home with renewable energy sources. But once again I'll wait to see the accuracy of the statements considering it comes from a guy who receives sponsorship from organizations receiving money from ExxonMobil. Go Boise State! Can I play the six degrees to Exxon game too? Okay, First off Exxon funds project NExT which is administered by the Mathematics Association of America. Second, the MAA sponsors the annual Putnum Mathematical Competition. The top five teams get $25k down to $5k. The top individual gets $12k and tuition for graduate study at Harvard. Third, Harvard has finished in the top five teams 51 times and won it 25 times. Throw in the annual tuition and that is a lot of money for Harvard every year. Fourth, the undergraduate section of Harvard University is Harvard College which was where the Goracle and Tommy Lee Jones were room mates in 1965. There you go, with two steps left over I have shown th... I'd like to know how the energy consumption in question compares to other past VPs of the US, such as, say, Danny Q. Might it be fair to say that there are many more uses of current related to the man's social postion than the "average" US family? How does it compare to other individuals who are in his tax bracket? Sorry, if it smells, it smells. It gets even better when you consider how little he is actually at his home compared to the average American! HAHA! MORRRRRRRR-OOOOOOOON!!!! I don't know why it would matter what other VPs or ex VPs pay for electricity. I think a more telling comparison would be how much electricity and gas other global warming fanatics use. I would like to see how he compares to Ed Begley Jr. While I have no love for Gore, the referenced clip examines facts out of context. Namely, square footage and/or historical landmarks. How does Gore's energy consumption compare to the American average by square foot. Clearly larger houses will use more energy. And I don't believe the conservationists are crying for housing size regulations. And though I'm not familiar with the Gore Estate, is it an historical landmark? If so, there is a limited amount of retrofitting that can be done to bring it up to modern energy efficiency standards. I have no problem with Gore's energy use. He made the money, he has the sweet pad, he can heat it and cool it as he likes. I have a problem with Gore telling me what I should do to reduce my energy consumption while he himself isn't following those same guidelines. After all, if nothing else could be done, he could always build himself a new energy efficient home instead of living (part time) in that energy hog of a home. How can his home use that much energy? What on earth is going on in there? I suspect he is airconditioning the neighborhood. "put this partisan anti-American global-warming partisanship to sleep for awhile. " come on willhelm, facts and reality are ANTI-AMERICAN. I'm so mad, I think I need to get myself a big helping of patriotic Freedom Fries, followed by plastering my house with our flag, and then get myself some Brave Toast. And oh yes, support the troops, even if they are told to behead the Dalai Lama. Just do it.....else you're not American. Al Gore invented the INTERNET.. he runs it from his home.. that's where the energy is coming from.. n2, do you want the internet to go down? Then where would you spout your irrational crap? God I missed this place... PS: In case anyone is silly enough to think my comments aren't in jest (well, those about Gore inventing the internet & running it from his house at least) umm.. get a life? If Gore's house really was THAT wasteful, someone with credibility would have run the story by now. If it is a historical property, it will be run regardless of who lives there, and historically protected properties are vary hard to retrofit.. but he COULD build a few wind turbines/solar gens a mile... "Usually that is a sign that it is less than truthful." actually catwhisperer...that sign that a story is total BS is seeing the words by n2sooners next to it. Gore Responds: Responding to Drudge's, vicious rightwing smear machine attack, Vice President Gore's office told ThinkProgress: 1) Gore's family has taken numerous steps to reduce the carbon footprint of their private residence, including signing up for 100 percent green power through Green Power Switch, installing solar panels, and using compact fluorescent bulbs and other energy saving technology. 2) Gore has had a consistent position of purchasing carbon offsets to offset the family's carbon footprint -- a concept the right-wing fails to understand. Gore's office explains: What Mr. Gore has asked is that every family calculate their carbon footprint and try to redu... Just for the record. These numbers on Gore's energy usage came from the public records of his utilities. They are made public to anyone that wants to see them. Anyone can see them. Gore also has not disputed the numbers, but says he makes up for his usage by purchasing offsets. In other words, he's not contributing even the most modest amount to his pet cause. Keep in mind this is for ONE home. He has a second home outside Nashville in Carthage, TN, one in Washington DC, and one in North Carolina. Incidentally, I hear GW Bush's Texas ranch is one of the most environmentally friendly homes in America using solar and wind power as well as a very complex irrigation system used for cooling and water. Not to mention that the whole carbon credit deal is nothing but a scam. Companies are given as many as 20% more credits than there current carbon output. So if they just keep pumping out the same amount of CO2, they can sell those other credits to companies who wish to increase their CO2 emissions or to moonbats who think it helps the environment to give money to those companies who are simply not increasing their CO2 output. Yet more of the money being made from the global warming alarmism scam. And you can buy credits right now for things like making your pets or your grandma carbon neutral if you think it will make a difference. How many credits are you alarmists here buying? I don't care if he lives in the Vatican. It's the fact that he tries to tell us to use better light bulbs to save energy. If he really believes that's SOOOO important, than wouldn't he move out of the giant house and not personally, himself contribute to what he claims is going to kill us all?! Every comment here so far (except 2or 3) are just knee-jerk reactions to some PARTIAL facts about the Gore's home...disclosed by an organization that is more bogus than "mlitary intelligence" you might do some research and find out WHERE they buy the energy (local alternate sources) and HOW the energy is used...not just how much...You guys are the MORONS!!! Even IF Gore is the world's most flaming hypocrite, global warming is still real. Of course global warming is real. The only thing that doesn't and has never existed is global climate stagnation. Just so happens, global warming is real on Mars right now too. Yes, but no-one lives on mars. "I think what you're seeing here is the last gasp of the global warming skeptics. They've completely lost the debate on the issue so now they're just attacking their most effective opponent." --Scoffed a former Gore adviser in response If no one lives on Mars, who is causing all that warming? The thing is, the earth doesn't care whether or not you believe in anthropogenic climate change, and it isn't going to make any effort to convince the skeptics against their will. So, whether or not they are convinced is sort of not a real good factor to determine whether or not it's real. "If no one lives on Mars, who is causing all that warming?" Well, maybe all the dry ice which composes the Martian polar "ice" caps, which is now being boiled into the atmosphere at a rapid rate, raising the CO2 content and causing a textbook case of greenhouse gas climate change. You do understand feedback loops, I'm sure. Ahh, yes, but what started it? If no humans are there, it must be natural, right? And since we share the same heating source as Mars, isn't it possible that it could be a major factor in the warming on both planets? You see, it isn't that I don't believe in climate change. On the contrary, I believe climate change has been happening and it was happening long before the invention of the internal combustion engine. I am not a denier, it is those who thing the climate wouldn't be changing if not for man who are in denial. OH, so if it happened on mars that way, then that's obviously what's happening on Earth!! OMG! why you are a Genius!.. **sarcasm** No, you aren't a denier, just blind. Blind to the teachings of the Goracle? Tell me, how much of an effect do you think man is having on global warming? 100%? 50%? 10%? You seem to know it all, so enlighten me. Don't be an ass-hat, i never said i know it all, i just said you are ignorant. I will say I do seem to know better/more than you I think MAN is having a large impact, how much? ask the scientists (the vast majority of them) But what do they know eh? they only have Masters Degrees, Doctorates, etc... You got caught saying something ludacris (that Mars BS), and now you are trying to deflect that idiocy off... badly. You claim to know more, but have no idea how much effect man is having on global warming. Fact is, if you have no idea whatsoever how much of an effect man is having on global warming, then how do you know the effect is at or near zero? The only way could be faith. Which removes this whole argument from being one of science to being one of religion. As for Mars, that isn't stupid, it is very important. We both share the same heating source. Changes in the heating source could be what is driving warming on both planets. You just wish to dismiss the sun as a cause of global warming because it doesn't play into your faith. Sooners, save your breath...these freaks have and always will be, totally consumed with all manner of things which they have little or no control over. They accuse the religious right of trying to tell people how to live...well this is their way to tell everyone "how" to live....difference is, as TheCatWhisperer will readily admit to being an atheist (fine by me), they are Godless, so they worship themselves and the environment to an extreme! Excuse the run on sentence...I gotta quit ClipMarx...too left for me. sparphoto, The leaders of the religious right, Fairwell and Robberson , to mention just two, are total and complete nutballs with the agenda of just obtaining wealth and power at the expense of the sheep that follow them over the cliff. I used to be a moderate person in my discussion of both religion and politics, but this latest gang of hoods has changed me into a lefty with a very big desire to speak my peace......on both counts (ie religion and politics). There are lots of people out here on clipmarks who think the same way, so it might just be a good idea for you to quit clipmarks. I would like to know just one thing. What gives you the right to call anybody godless, and what the hell makes you so godly! not2soon, You really have it in for global warming and Al Gore. I gotta admit, all your talking about how this global warming stuff is a hoax.....and how all the scientists in the world are clueless.....and how it's hot on Mars (for crying out loud!)......it's getting kinda old. Give me a good reason way Gore is going around duping all the people on earth. Why is Gore sowing the seeds of fear? What the hell does he have to gain. I can understand why this administration pulled out the fear card (ala Cheney, and "you need to be afraid!...you need to be very afraid!). What a disgrace for the leaders of this great nation to sow fear as a political tactic just to do damn well what they had ... What does Gore have to gain? Are you kidding me? The guy has four homes, is flying around the world in private jets, winning an Oscar, raking in the money, and preaching to people who call him the Goracle. He is a rock star preacher for the global warming fanatics. And if when he is proven wrong, he stands to lose it all (or at least everything but the family tobacco money). Look, I am not calling scientists stupid. I am just stating the simple fact that anyone who declares the debate closed, the matter settled, or a consensus is not a scientist. Science is all about debate and those who don't want to hear it want nothing to do with science. They have then crossed over to defending their be... It is amazing that the left are such IDIOTS. These FACTS come from Gore's UTILITIES. They are public information. I live not too far from Gore. Believe me the local press has covered this extensively. They have even shown the records on TV. You leftists are so dogmatic and brain dead you refuse to accept facts. The facts about global warming are just as clear as the facts on Gore's "carbon footprint". You guys sure don't like "The Goracle", ....do you. What are you going to do when he is our next President? Just Kidding By the way.... dogmatic, is a synonym for far right conservatives. Lol shcreibe, again, all politicians lie and cheat. There are dogmatic people on the right and the left. And yes, everyone knows Bush is an idiot. That doesn't prove anything so please don't bring it up again. |
