I'd like to take a college course on the origin of words. There is one available but there's a lot of prerequisites needed to be eligible to take it. I have some English courses but not enough and some aren't the right ones.

The author vastly overstates the contribution of Latin and Greek to the languages of the world and exaggerates in the case of English. While it is true that the Romance languages and dialects are direct descendants of Latin, its influence on the non-Romance languages of Europe is not as great; the influence of the two upon non-Indo European languages considerably less significant.
