Maybe if the military gave them more support mentally as well as financially during and after their time in service. After they had killed too much innocents, the guilty conscience may come through. tanyamm, they do. It's becoming more and more the norm, especially suicide prevention training when they first enter the military (at least here in the Army). It is being emphasized that mental health is as important to the entire Soldier as physical health. There's a lot going on 'under the radar'. Bureaucracy is no friend of the trooper. I'd almost be embarrased to tell some of the stuff I've been reading 'cold' to someone who didn't know all the research I do.. Best to let a vet start information going : there's far too much betrayal going on. Kick over to http://www.thebrokensoldier.com/ I have links to 'Homeless Vet' and 'Winter Soldier' at Opit's LinkFest! http://my.opera.com/oldephartte/links/ or you can just search. There are even side effects of 'treatment' that kicked up the suicide rate. PTSD is no joke. 'Nam vets were hammered by it badly and so were those in WW II. Their problems led to the movie 'Catch 22'...a miserable show and ditto for flashbacks. |
