merrie says: Last week, the Navy canceled some contracts involved in the development of the Littoral Combat Ship, a high-speed, shallow-draft, modernistic corvette of which the service hopes to build 55. The Wall Street Journal said, "These ships are a key part of the government's plans for dealing with the potential threats posed by terrorists and others who might try to carry out attacks in shallow harbors." I'm glad that our government is proceeding with options and plans to provide us with the necessity of oil and it's products. This in light of Sen. Clinton's suggestion that the President release our fuel reserves for the northern states as winter approaches. That being said...when are our citizens going to take seriously the importance of creating and building options within our own Country? that we *must* begin utilizing the options that are already available. They are here. We need not be at the mercy of world dictators...unless we vacillate and choose to be. |
