Look. Get over the spending. It's gotta happen to get things moving again - but not in such a way as to simply line government weapons contractors and other buddies in a bogus war.

I'm reminded of my own house when us kids would play and leave our toys out, mess up the couch cushions and leave food dishes around and my mother would bemoan the mess - then when she cleaned up our mess she pulled out the furniture, pulled out the dishes, got all the cleaning supplies out and made what looked like a larger mess than we had made, but in the end things were much cleaner.

Did your parents max out all of their credit cards and leave you with the bill?

The graph above is just for the yearly budget deficit. The total Debt at the end of Obama's term is projected to be $10 Trillion.

We're borrowing most of it, which will drive up interest rates. We also printed an extra Trillion dollars without any Capital to back it up. This means that whatever you have in your bank account is going to be worth less due to inflation. Can you say Jimmy Carter style Stagflation? We'll have a short term recovery followed by years of Stagflation if we continue down this path and YES taxes will need to be raised even on the 95% of Americans who earn under $200,000... not to m...

See .. its a little hard for me to take rants like yours seriously when I didn't hear from you during the Bush spending years.

Now that our country is in the midst of collapse with banks crashing, huge industry going bankrupt and unemployment breaking the backs of the common man I'd rather see this huge spending done to rebuild infrastructure, create jobs, and invest in new futures than simply build more military, invest in bridges to nowhere, and pad pockets with thousand dollar toilet seats and billion dollar boondoggles.

Complaining about the spending now is a bit sanctimonious and quite a bit dishonest.

I posted a graph... how is that a rant?

I did respond to your rather flimsy analogy about cleaning up toys. That relates to Trillions in Debt how?

I was against the TARP bailout when Bush wanted it and was dismayed when McCain & Obama both supported it... what choice did we have... None.

Except that now Obama has doubled down on it, or I should say quadrupled down on it.

You and I are being screwed by both parties who support companies that took bad risks at our expense.

Somebody has to pay for it and if you pay taxes, have a job, heat a home or apartment, drive a car, have money in the bank... or smoke cigarettes you or your kids WILL pay for it - regardless of campaign promises. Sorry, those are the facts.

By the way, the graph above is already outdated.
Just yesterday, the White House increased it's projections for the size of the deficit to $1.841 Trillion for this year.

Oortcloud,
How would you know if I was concerned about Bush spending?

For your information I was concerned about the Republican spend fest when they were in Congress.

Yes, I am more concerned now... about 4 times more concerned because they are spending 4 times as much.

It's funny how the Obama Kool-aid drinkers were so concerned about the record deficits of Bush, but suddenly have NO Concern over a Quadrupling in spending just because it's "their" guy.

It's your choice Coke or Pepsi, but they both sell you expensive sugar water. Now Pepsi wants to add a little more sugar and charge (tax payers) 4 times the price.
