A further factor is that while they are transparent from within, they do stop people from outside looking in.
The metal film is not kept in place by adhesives or similar additives, but by the effect of physical energy on the molecular and atomic surface of the textile. This also prevents any static electricity and the build-up of electro-magnetic fields. Compared with non-metalised materials, therefore, hi-tech textiles with MASA also make an important contribution towards protecting people against toxic electrosmog.
First developed by Suzutora on a worldwide basis in 1975, nano coating is thinner and more uniform than other metal coating. The main point, however, is that there is no change to the properties of the basic material, which is a precondition, for instance, for the use of the flame retardant fibre and filament yarns of Trevira. In burn tests for trademark approval for the Trevira CS label the TORA-JU collection from the Japanese weaver showed this to be the case. The MASA fabrics from Suzutora are permanently flame retardant, and therefore suitable for the contract market.
