My sheltered world has seen two women leave families for someone on the net. On each occasion I was amazed. Leaving the husbands can be understood, but how desperate, or whatever, were they to leave the kids?

Agree with you completely, tabsey - its shocking and ridiculous. When you're young & single its 'passable' (my variant for possible!) to be gregarious and make some silly decisions. But to let go of kids...unpardonable!
