BobbyRutan says: W is suppose to be our first MBA President but he can not even conduct a cost benefit analysis. Cost: Whatever minuscule amount compared to what we have spent that Saddam would settle for; and any bogus information his generals had convinced him existed. Benefits: 28,000 soldiers not wounded; 3800 soldiers not killed; 600,000 to 1,000,000 Iraqis not killed; $600 Billion to $1 Trillion dollars not wasted; standing and trust within the world community preserved. Ultimate cost to Bush: not looking tough; not having Iraqi oil under the control of US oil producers. Of course the benefits would have been priceless Bobby, that is if he would have held up his end of the bargain. Do you think he would have? The agenda for war with Iraq was there before 9/11. And this president only has tunnel vision. Talks would have meant nothing with this guy. Cptenaud's statement is correct in that Bush obviously never wanted to investigate the possibility of negotiations. There is no evidence Bush would pursue it. There is evidence that other dictators have gone into exile. Yes indeed. the line in the article that references Saddam wanting info on WOD has been added to the original story why? and by whom? this is called Seeding Justification -- if the original story was true - that Bush refused Saddam's offer to go into exile, instead going to war, mis-spending billions, killing 1000s of US soldiers un-necessarily... then Bush is worse than the worst war criminals of history... but with this one bit of seeded mis-information, Bush's rejection can be justified... I think there is an office of misinformation somewhere in the CIA HQ where people put these lines out there to cause confusion and distort and shape the debate. BobbyRutan Some things need to be said more than twice by as many people as possible. The Thunder I want to hear, is the sound of a country waking up to the truth. If someone clips the same subject or article, I know the clip is a vehicle. It is the article that is important. The difference may be, if I have a clip of an article, I might just pop a similar clip without saving. I think clipmarks is great for showing others some of the many different threads, ideas and facts that can be found on the net. If someone already knows about something I find, or vice versa, not nearly as much time has to be spent on an introduction. |
