If the nurse doesn't want to do the job that she was hired for and paid to do, she *should* be fired.

Also, were I her employer, I would be deeply concerned that her claims in this matter may contain sufficient information about the patient to violate the Health Information Portability and Privacy Act, for which hospital officials could go to jail if they don't turn her in, not to mention that the patient could sue everyone involved into the ground. And the nurse should know that.

She was not hired to commit murder.

This is precisely why we need conscience clauses.

That's horrible. The whole purpose of people becoming a nurse is to save life. Forcing someone to help take it unwillingly, is no better than what Hitler made people do to keep their job, which allowed them to survive in a tough economy.
Are we going to force them to euthanize people too?

Lilygrove, exactly. And, I wouldn't be surprised. With Obama's new health care plan, seniors will be required to have "end of life" counseling every 5 years. Interesting how he is also pushing legalizing euthanasia & denying certain types of procedures & treatments to the ill, aged, & disabled.
